What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerical Paraeducator position at Barre Unified Union School District?
Spaulding High School is seeking a Clerical Paraeducator to provide clerical and administrative support in our Assistant Principal's office, from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, through the school year.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Greet and welcome visitors to the school. Ensure visitors to the building follow check-in/safety protocol. Inquire about the purpose of entering the office and direct to the appropriate location when necessary.
- Ensure badges, sign-in sheets, and other materials are well stocked, available, and appropriately displayed.
- Assist students, parents, teachers, and others who enter the school building and resolve all daily office concerns.
- Answer all incoming calls; record all messages accurately and give them to the appropriate individual in a timely manner.
- Practice confidentiality requirements pertaining to students and staff.
- Provide secretarial assistance to the co-principals and assistant principals.
- Distribute various written information; answer questions about department/school policies, procedures, fees, schedules, events, services, programs, and the like; distribute, collect, and assist with completing forms.
- Perform a variety of tasks related to the development, organization, and maintenance of computerized departmental records using personal computers: design and basic programming of appropriate databases and reporting systems using various PC software; initial database input; ongoing use of the system, involving regular data input and using programs to generate a variety of reports.
- Screen, sort, and distribute incoming mail. Prepare outgoing mail.
Job Requirements:
- Previous office experience is preferred.
- Applicants must have a high school degree/GED and successfully complete a Paraeducator Assessment. This assessment is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office OR An Associate's Degree / minimum of 48 undergraduate credits.
