What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Education Paraeducator position at Barre Town Middle and Elementary School?
Barre Town Middle & Elementary School is seeking a General Education Paraeducator to work as a Home and School Coordinator, beginning mid-August. The goal of this position is to provide coordination services to the home school community as well as lunch and recess supervision for students to ensure their safety.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, in addition to the following:
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as lesson plans, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students.
- Ability to speak effectively before the school principal and other substitutes of organization.
Computer Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience with Word Processing programs and databases.
Reasoning Ability/Mental Requirements:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Great written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate courteously, effectively, and respectfully with a variety of individuals, including students, faculty, administrators, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with students, peers, supervisors, parents, and outside agencies.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Applicants must have a high school degree or GED and pass a Paraeducator Assessment, which is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office
OR
An Associate's Degree/minimum of 48 undergraduate credits
This job comes with a full benefits package. The starting pay rate for this position is $20 to $21, depending on experience and education.
