Job Summary
The Studio Lead is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and hospitality to Barre & Soul clients. The Studio Lead assists the Senior Studio Manager with various tasks and studio needs, ensuring efficient daily operations and enhancing the overall client experience.
Essential Job FunctionsCustomer Service
- Answers phones and responds to client emails.
- Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival, creating a warm and friendly environment.
- Checks guests into Walla and assists with class-related inquiries.
- Provides studio tours and helps first-time clients feel comfortable and prepared.
- Resolves client concerns in real-time and escalates to the Senior Studio Manager when needed.
Sales & Membership Retention
- Proactively recommends memberships, packages, studio specials, and merchandise to clients.
- Strives to meet and exceed weekly and monthly studio sales goals.
- Maintains knowledge of current promotions, class offerings, and instructor specialties.
Studio Operations
- Ensures the studio is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Empties all trash receptacles throughout the studio, including lobby, bathroom, and back-of-house areas.
- Performs light cleaning tasks as needed, including mopping/vacuuming lobby and bathrooms.
- Monitors inventory and restocks front desk and bathroom supplies; reports low stock to the Senior Studio Manager.
- Opens and/or closes the studio in accordance with operational checklists and standards.
Communication
- Serves as the primary point of contact for in-studio client needs.
- Communicates studio updates, concerns, and client feedback to the Senior Studio Manager promptly.
Flexibility
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to maintain studio operations.
- Must have daytime availability to support studio needs during peak business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Studio Manager with event planning, staff scheduling, and various administrative tasks.
- Foster community engagement by creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all clients and staff.
- Maintain studio standards by overseeing cleanliness, safety protocols, and general upkeep.
- Implement and enforce studio policies while recommending improvements for client and staff experience.
- Identify and report maintenance or operational needs proactively to the Senior Studio Manager.
Required QualificationsEducation/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in customer service, fitness, or wellness industries is highly preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; calm and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and take initiative to solve problems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, timely decisions in fast-paced situations.
- Basic knowledge of Barre & Soul classes, fitness, and wellness preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- For movement educators:
- Barre Teacher Training (preferably Barre & Soul provided)
- Yoga Teacher Training, RYT-200
Physical Requirements
General Studio Duties:
- Ability to work in both hot and temperate environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Standing for long periods and light cleaning responsibilities.
Movement Educators (Teaching Role):
- Ability to demonstrate exercises multiple times throughout a 45–60 minute class.
- Core strength to maintain balance and posture while demonstrating movements.
- Upper body strength to support alignment in push-ups, planks, and resistance-based exercises.
- Shoulder mobility to execute weight-bearing and full-range arm movements.
- Physical coordination to transition fluidly between movements and cue with clarity and safety.
- Vocal projection and sustained energy to teach multiple classes per day.
- Deep knowledge of body alignment to prevent client injury.
- Clear verbal and non-verbal communication over music and background noise.
- Ability to speak while moving through moderate-intensity exercises.
