WEEKEND Personal Care Assistant/Direct Service Workers
We are seeking reliable, dedicated and dependable Personal Care Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants and Direct Service Workers, to provide services to physically and/or mentally challenged clients in the comfort of their homes.
Minimum Qualifications: You must be at least 18 years of age. You must pass a pre-employment background check. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read and understand treatment plans, prescription medications and directions for the care of others. It requires knowledge of the general care and training of physically and mentally disabled people. Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required. Must be able to work without direct supervision and demonstrate initiative, empathy, tolerance, consistency and motivation when working with clients. You must also demonstrate appropriateness in your dress appearance and behavior.
Responsibilities:
Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing and grooming
When applicable (with doctor’s authorization), administer medication and document
Provide services outlined in the client’s Service Plan
Advise program director of problems immediately
Provide recreational activities, assist clients with their shopping
Prepare and serve food and perform necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
Practice preventative safety and health techniques
Maintain client confidentiality, comply with rules/regulations according to agency guidelines, state and federal licensing and certification requirements
Maintain daily time sheets and document involvement with clients on patient notes
Skills
Proven experience as personal care assistant, with a positive and compassionate attitude and be committed to health and safety
Well organized, reliable, and possess physical stamina with the ability to do housework and cooking
Possess strong ethics, client confidentiality and excellent communication and people skills'
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
