Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
- Monitor patients’ health by observing and report any changes or concerns promptly
- Support medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and proper infection control procedures
- Document care activities accurately in care plans and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient status or changes
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your ability to provide specialized support
- Certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and patient monitoring protocols
- Experience with working with individuals with autism or disabilities demonstrates your versatility in caregiving roles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong understanding of care plans and social work principles related to long-term care and senior support
