Barracuda Networks is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented RFP Writer to join our State, Local, and Education (SLED) Segment team. This role reports directly to the Americas SLED Segment Leader and plays a critical role in managing and executing RFPs across all 50 states. Barracuda Networks is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented RFP Writer to join our State, Local, and Education (SLED) Segment team. This role reports directly to the Americas SLED Segment Leader and plays a critical role in managing and executing RFPs across all 50 states. The ideal candidate must possess strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
What You Will Be Working On
- Analyze & Deconstruct RFPs: Review RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, IFBs to identify technical, compliance, budget, and evaluation criteria. Create and maintain a compliance matrix or requirements-tracking tool.
- Content Coordination & Development: Collaborate cross-functionally to gather and distill technical input. Draft and refine proposal sections ensuring clarity, persuasion, and compliance.
- Proposal Project Management: Coordinate proposal timelines, assign writing tasks, lead kick-offs, manage progress to ensure timely submission. Conduct proposal reviews and drive revisions.
- Quality Assurance & Submission: Ensure proposals align with corporate branding, formatting standards, and RFP guidelines. Edit and proofread to eliminate jargon and refine messaging.
- Continuous Improvement & Library Management: Maintain a content library of reusable materials, standardized templates, win themes, and lessons learned. Conduct win/loss analyses and implement learnings.
- Market & SLED Intelligence: Stay current on SLED trends, procurement changes, and competitive landscape to enhance proposal competitiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Technical Writing, or related fields.
- 3–6 years of RFP/proposal writing experience—ideally within technology, cybersecurity, public sector, or federal/government contracting.
- Familiarity with SLED procurement processes and compliance standards (e.g., SA, CJIS) desirable.
- Certification like APMP (Association for Proposal Management Professionals) is a plus.
- Exceptional written communication: Transform technical and financial input into persuasive messaging.
- Attention to detail & compliance: Ensure accuracy, formatting, and regulatory adherence.
- Strong project management: Ability to lead tight timelines and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Collaboration & influencing: Engage effectively across functions—from executives to SMEs.
- Analytical capability: Deconstruct requirements, perform win/theme analysis, and align competitive positioning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; experience with proposal tools (e.g., Loopio, RFPIO).
