Envision yourself at Barracuda We are seeking a driven, eager to learn SW Eng - SDET Intern to join our Email Security Team. As a SW Eng - SDET Intern, you will help us with our end-to-end testing and test automation. We want someone who is a self-starter, passionate about technology, and excited to learn something new. What you'll be working on Define test scope and test plans/cases across a full-featured SAAS web-application across the frontend and backend (APIs, microservices, scale/performance) Execute manual testing, where appropriate Define and develop automated testing using such tools as mabl, selenium, cucumber Triage issues escalated to other Engineering counterparts Work with other engineers to debug issues and implement fixes/improvements Develop tooling for use by Support or Engineering to make it easier to find problems, interact with product systems, or gain greater visibility into ‘what’s happening’ Identify and champion changes and features that will improve the customer experience and quality of the product Participate in product development activities with the Product Manager and Team, such as prioritization discussions, design reviews, and sprint planning/grooming/retro activities What you bring to the role Strong Linux skills Prior programming and bash scripting experience in a language such as python Experience testing REST APIs for microservices, and API tools such as Swagger or Postman Experience with large scale distributed systems – familiarity with distributed databases, streaming/queueing services, batch processing workflows, microservices and APIs, a plus Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook Add-Ins, Microsoft Graph API, a plus Exposure to public cloud architectures and deployments, modern CI/CD pipelines, observability and monitoring best practices, also a plus What you get from us: 1:1 mentoring with technical and industry experts Facetime with executive leadership Hands-on experience in coding, debugging, problem-solving, collaborating with a team on real, impactful projects Opportunities to learn new technologies and frameworks Opportunities to develop valuable real-world skills such as communication, critical thinking, and time management Benefits High-quality health benefits after 90 days Retirement Plan with employer match Paid Time Off benefits The anticipated on-target earnings range for this role is $24 - $36 per hour in Chelmsford, MA.
