Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks including:
- Light bulb replacement
- Fluid checks and refills (oil, coolant, washer fluid, etc.)
- Minor seat repairs
- Conduct full visual and safety inspections of school buses
- Fuel buses and prepare them for daily routes and trips
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus yard and facility
- Assist with general lot maintenance as needed
- Travel between company lots as needed
- Support maintenance and operations teams as required
- Report any mechanical or safety concerns promptly
- Perform additional duties as assigned and as needed
- Opportunity for additional hours by becoming certified as a Bus Attendant to assist on special needs routes
- Once a CDL is obtained, additional hours may be available covering routes and trips
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check (due to potential interaction with students)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL Class B with Passenger (P), School Bus (S), and Air Brake endorsements within a specified timeframe after hire
- Must be willing to travel between company lots as needed
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
