Job Title: Line Run Bus Driver
Job Summary:
The Line Run Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating a bus on an assigned fixed route (line run), transporting passengers according to a published schedule. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong customer service, and strict adherence to safety and traffic regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a bus safely and efficiently along designated routes and schedules
- Pick up and drop off passengers at established stops
- Assist passengers with boarding, including seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Collect fares or verify passes as required
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, or delays promptly
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior
- Provide courteous customer service and respond to passenger inquiries
- Communicate with dispatch regarding route conditions or emergencies
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or B) with passenger endorsement
- Applicants must be at least 23 yrs old
- Clean driving record (2pts or less)
- Ability to pass background check, drug and alcohol testing
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic laws
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to sit for extended periods and assist passengers as needed
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Fixed routes with scheduled stops
- May include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Exposure to varying weather and traffic conditions
