Role Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural and miscellaneous steel projects from award through closeout. This role will work closely with clients, general contractors, detailers, shop personnel, and field crews to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple structural and miscellaneous steel projects simultaneously.
- Review contracts, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Coordinate project schedules, fabrication timelines, deliveries, and field installation activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, architects, and subcontractors.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Track project budgets, costs, and profitability.
- Coordinate with detailing, engineering, purchasing, shop, and field operations teams.
- Attend project meetings and site visits as required.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may impact schedule or budget.
- Review and approve invoices, billings, and project-related costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Assist with project closeout documentation and final turnover.
Qualifications
- 5 years of Project Management experience in the structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience managing commercial, industrial, institutional, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Fieldwire, Bluebeam, Tekla, or similar platforms is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks for PO submittals
