Skilled in following complex oral and written instructions, including policies and procedures. Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and coordinate work involving diverse demands and deadlines. Ability to present a professional demeanor and remain calm and composed during stressful situations. Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing, with a diverse group of people. Ability to produce written documents, with clearly organized thoughts, using proper sentence structure, punctuation and grammar. Must have excellent communication skills, be diligent about follow-up, and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. |

| Education Level: | High school diploma and at least one (1) year experience in a gaming environment, or position that requires public contact. Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. |
General Summary: The Background Investigator works under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports to the Licensing Director or in his/her absence, the Assistant Licensing Director. The position conducts background investigations and interviews new applicants, employees and vendors for new and renewal gaming licenses. This position greets and assists applicants with gaming license application forms, takes fingerprint impressions, prints badges, reviews applications, criminal records, credit reports, and interviews applicants to ensure that the application is properly completed, and any discrepancies resolved. Maintains records, scans, archives, files, and manages filing system. Handles highly confidential information and is bound by a Confidentiality Agreement. Performs other duties as assigned.
