Technical Sales Engineer

Original equipment manufacturer located in Cookeville, TN is seeking a technical sales / applications person with knowledge in the utility industry. Candidate must have five-years of related experience, and a college degree – preferably in mechanical engineering. Familiarity with any or all of: industrial fluids filtration; pumps and flow systems; vacuum pumps; vacuum drying and degasification processes; as they apply to oil processing and electrical equipment drying is desirable but not mandatory. The candidate should be willing to travel occasionally and be a team player who will learn Baron’s equipment and accessories and how they apply to the needs of our customers. Cost estimation and preparation of detailed proposals of a technical nature are a main task for this position.

Requirements Summary:

· Mechanical engineering degree preferably with fluid flow and heat transfer focus

· Five years or more of work experience in related field preferred

· Familiarity with AutoDesk Inventor and Autocad; MS Word, Excel, Outlook

· Familiarity with Allen Bradley and GE/Emerson PLC’s and HMI’s is helpful

· Experience with process piping; industrial filtration; ASME code for piping and pressure vessels is an asset but not required

· Be comfortable dealing with customers and generating leads and building relationships

· Have and learn technical expertise to understand customer requirements and make application of Baron’s products to meet those requirements

· Good technical writing skills for preparation of proposals using MSWord, Excel and other tools.

· Familiarity with utility industry, industrial filtration or with vacuum purification of oils is an asset

Position Responsibilities:

· Provide estimates and technical proposals for custom manufactured equipment

· Engage in marketing tasks such as attendance at trade shows and technical conferences

· Visit current and potential customers throughout US and Canada if/when required

· Generate and nurture sales leads

· Work with engineering department for design of systems after sale

· Work with production department to ensure customer expectations are met

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
