POSITION: Upper Elementary School Library Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS: Two years college education
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
In cooperation with the building principal and under the direction of the Library Media Specialist:
- Oversee circulation of books, media and devices.
- Actively supervise students when using the library.
- Implement lessons provided by Library Media Specialist to small groups of students.
- Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating, circulating, and using library resources.
- Assist students with instructional/academic tasks and projects in the library setting.
- Create and update library displays and bulletin boards.
- Locate and organize resources to assist and support classroom use of library space.
- Support the social emotional needs of students through positive relationship building within the library setting.
- Record teacher and pupil requests for print and non-print purchases.
- Maintain up-to-date cataloging.
- Other duties may be assigned by the building principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement
SALARY: Per Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement
