Job Summary:
Barnstable High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to serve as the Assistant Marching Band Instructor. This is an after-school, stipend position that will support the Marching Band Stipend and Band Director in leading and directing the school's marching band program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marching Band Stipend and Band Director in planning and executing all marching band rehearsals and performances
- Provide instruction and guidance to marching band members during rehearsals
- Help coordinate the logistics of marching band events, including competitions, parades, and other performances
- Support the creation and implementation of the marching band's curriculum and training program
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of marching band equipment and uniforms
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for marching band members
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding marching band activities
- Attend all marching band rehearsals, performances, and competitions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Marching Band Stipend or Band Director
Qualifications:
- Experience in marching band instruction or leadership
- Strong musical and conducting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Marching Band Stipend, Band Director, and marching band members
- Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend rehearsals and performances
