Role Description The Ready Mix Supervisor/QC is a full-time, on-site role based in Vestal, NY, responsible for overseeing daily ready mix concrete production and quality control activities. This role monitors batching operations, and coordinates with dispatch, drivers, and plant personnel to ensure timely, accurate deliveries. The Ready Mix Supervisor/QC performs periodic testing of concrete and raw materials, documents results, and adjusts mixes to maintain compliance with specifications and industry standards. The position includes supervising production staff, promoting safe work practices, and resolving operational or product quality issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task prioritization, and performance monitoring in a production or construction environment.
- Quality control and quality assurance skills, with experience applying standards, conducting inspections, and documenting compliance for ready mix or similar materials.
- Analytical skills to interpret test data, troubleshoot mix or production issues, and make data-driven adjustments to processes. Will train.
- Laboratory skills in sampling, testing, and handling concrete and aggregates, with familiarity with relevant industry test methods and equipment. Will train.
- Knowledge of ready mix concrete operations, mix designs, and construction specifications; ACI or similar certifications are preferred a plus
- Commitment to safety procedures and regulatory compliance in plant and field environments.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with plant personnel, drivers, contractors, and customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in construction materials, civil technology, or related fields is beneficial.
