We are seeking an experienced Wide Format Print Operator to join our team. This individual will have the highest level of commitment to quality, attention to detail, and will work to foster growth and productivity in the company. You should have at least 2 years working with wide format printers on a variety of medium including decals, signs, and more.
You must have previous wide format experience.
As a Wide Format Operator, you will work as a collaborative part of a fast-paced team with the goal of meeting customers needs and deadlines. You will take digital files and fulfill orders on our Epson 80600 wide format printer. . You will work with other team members to prepare jobs for shipping or finishing. Your duties will include job setup/line-up, quality checks during print runs, and basic machine maintenance (calibration, clearing jams, replacing materials). Running cutting tables, weeding by hand and machine, and other various wide format related tasks.
Job Overview
The Wide Format Operator sets up and operate printers, performing routine maintenance, and ensure that all printed materials meet quality standards. The operator works closely with the design to ensure that all projects are completed on time and to the client's specifications. Understanding color management, print media, and finishing techniques are vital in this role.
I. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting up print jobs on the machine, including adjusting print settings, color profiles, and media type according to project requirements.
- Loading large rolls of paper or other media onto the printer bed.
- Pre-masking and weeding.
- Operating and maintaining flatbed cutters.
- Performing regular checks during and after printing to ensure color accuracy, print alignment, and overall quality.
- Identifying and resolving any printing errors or machine malfunctions.
- Performing routine cleaning and maintenance on the printer.
- Reviewing digital artwork files for print readiness, including color correction and ensuring proper file formats.
- Managing print queues, prioritizing jobs based on deadlines, and coordinating with other team members to meet production schedules.
- Cutting and finishing: Operating finishing equipment like cutters and laminators to trim and prepare printed materials for delivery
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate commercial wide format printers, laminators, flatbed cutters, and scorers.
- Maintenance/repair on equipment
- Ensure production quality
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
III. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma/GED
- Experience as a Large Format Printer Operator preferred
- Knowledge of color management and print media.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with finishing techniques and equipment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with printing software.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage inventory.
- Commitment to safety and following protocols.
