JobSummary: As an area driver, you have a passion for great service and ensure the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders, for both our Barnes & Noble stores and .com customers. You take pride in assuring product is available to complete the order fulfillment process, an area driver consistently meets or exceeds the daily production goals and is comfortable performing these duties in a warehouse environment in accordance with our Core Values. Pay of rate $17.00 hourly plus 2nd shift differential.
WhatYouDo:
Adhere to all safety protocols and foster a safe work environment Operate various forklifts (pallet jacks and pacer) equipment safely, ensuring product is unloaded, loaded, stored, pulled and available for order fulfillment in a timely and accurate manner. Follows all driver training and driver guidelines. Work with a sense of urgency and care, assuring individual and department daily production goals are met or exceeded. Assist new hires and department transfers in a friendly and approachable manner with any questions they may have. Communicate in a positive manner with members of management with any questions or concerns. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Work on the warehouse floor, which requires physical activity (I.e., driving, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. including the ability to stand for long periods of time) in assigned areas as needed. Flexible with schedule required during peak season as business needs arise.
Knowledge&Experience:
Can successfully pass all OSHA required forklift driver classroom and practical certification. Can multitask in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner at all times. Possess basic written and verbal communication skills as well as mathematical skills. Is detailed and accurate. Prior forklift driving experience is preferred. •
