The Inventory Coordinator supports course materials availability by analyzing sales history, course information, publisher practices, and inventory data to determine appropriate stocking levels and support effective purchasing decisions. This role monitors inventory risk, helps prevent backorders and excess inventory, supports cost and margin objectives, and resolves inventory-related issues. The Inventory Coordinator also serves as a course materials resource and supports departmental productivity and performance goals.

How You'll Make An Impact
- Determine appropriate stocking quantities for course materials by analyzing historical provider, site, course, title, and sales data, along with other relevant information.
- Analyze purchasing activity and inventory information to support accurate buying decisions and anticipate course materials demand.
- Review stocking decisions and inventory levels to help prevent backorders and excess inventory while supporting cost and margin objectives.
- Monitor inventory risks, including custom course materials, and take appropriate action as needed.
- Review publisher policies and practices, new editions, packages, substitutions, and other product changes that may affect inventory needs.
- Review and take appropriate action on inventory and performance reports in accordance with departmental reporting schedules.
- Serve as a course materials resource regarding new editions, packages, substitute titles, and available alternatives.
- Review substitution notices, evaluate and adjust adoptions as appropriate, and identify alternate course material options from other vendors when needed.
- Work with Acquisitions and Client Representatives to support course materials availability and assist with resolving inventory-related issues.
- Monitor order status and inventory levels for assigned key accounts.
- Review reports and information to evaluate performance by provider, site, course, or title.
- Assist with evaluating historical information provided by new and existing clients.
- Understand individual performance expectations and work to improve results based on established departmental buyer metrics.
- Support the Supervisor and assist other Inventory Coordinators in meeting departmental productivity and performance goals.
- Evaluate processes and recommend or coordinate appropriate changes based on process analysis.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications, along with general computer skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
