What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator, Machine C 2nd Shift OEM position at Barnes Group?
Core Responsibilities:
- Primary duties are to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
- Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
- Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
- Checks paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
- Uses precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
- Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM.
Qualifications:
- Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages.
- Able to follow simple instructions or directions.
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position.
Education Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
