What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welding Apprentice- 2nd Shift position at Barnes Aerospace- Lansing Division?
Program Overview:
- The apprenticeship program is a 2-year program requiring the completion of 4,000 hours of welding disciplines, along with 288 hours of successful completion of classes that supplement the on-the-job training.
Qualifications
- Dedicated individual that is self-motivated and committed to learning.
- Must have means of completing required online coursework and supplemental training on their own time.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- Prior vocational school or technical school experience in a related discipline is a differentiator.

Compensation:
$18.00/hour to start, plus 12% shift differential when working 2nd shift hours. Regular $0.50/hour increase every 6 months during the course of the apprenticeship, if performance and progress meet expectations.
