Senior Partner - Family Law

Barnds Law Firm is looking for an experienced attorney who is ready for more than just managing a caseload. We're seeking a Senior Partner who wants a seat at the table, enjoys mentoring attorneys, values strong client relationships, and is excited about helping shape the future of a modern, growth-focused law firm.

What You'll Do:

Lead

• Help drive the firm's strategic direction and future growth.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on major initiatives and opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to attorneys and staff.
• Contribute to recruiting, hiring, and retaining top legal talent.

Practice Law

• Manage a sophisticated caseload within your area of expertise.
• Provide guidance on complex legal matters and case strategy.
• Deliver exceptional client service and legal representation.
• Assist attorneys in navigating challenging cases and legal issues.

Grow Relationships

• Develop and maintain referral relationships.
• Represent the firm within the community and professional organizations.
• Build strategic partnerships that create opportunities for both clients and the firm.
• Serve as an ambassador for the Barnds Law Firm brand.

Mentor the Next Generation

• Coach and develop associate attorneys.
• Share knowledge, experience, and best practices.
• Help create a culture of growth, accountability, and teamwork.
• Identify and help develop future leaders within the firm.

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Kansas Bar.
• 10 years of legal experience.
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and client-management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Track record of developing business and professional relationships.
• A collaborative, team-first attitude.
• Desire to help grow both a practice and a firm.

Bonus Points If You Have

• A portable book of business.
• Multi-state licensure.
• Experience managing attorneys or practice groups.
• Strong referral and community networks throughout Kansas

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, leadership responsibilities, business development contributions, and potential equity participation.
