Position Overview:
We seek a skilled, motivated, and dedicated Underwater Hull Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, and reporting on the hulls of various boats and yachts to ensure their efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct 100% thorough underwater cleaning of hulls and their delicate intricacies through the removal of algae, barnacles, oysters, and other marine growth
• Utilize appropriate tools and equipment, including scrapers, cleaning pads, and brushes.
• Inspect hulls for signs of damage, wear, or corrosion/electrolysis and report findings to management.
• Occasionally perform underwater maintenance, such as swapping sacrificial anodes or assisting in pulling props.
• Follow safety protocols and best practices for underwater work, ensuring personal safety and that of team members.
• Maintain and care for all cleaning equipment and tools, performing regular checks and maintenance as needed.
• Occasionally coordinate with dock personnel or boat owners for scheduling and accessibility.
• Keep accurate records of services performed by providing a report for each boat cleaned.
• Perform a final inspection after each hull cleaning is complete to ensure the quality of each job.
• Provide before and after videography of hull conditions with each report.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in marine maintenance or a related field is a plus.
• Open Water Diver Certification
• Reliable transportation and personal gear for the job, including mask, fins, underwater respiration system, scrapers, scrub pads, brushes, wet suit hood, weight belt, and wet suit capable of maintaining heat for longer dives during colder months - some gear may be borrowed to get started.
• Proven experience in underwater cleaning or a similar role is preferred; however, we will train the right candidate.
• Familiarity with marine biology and ecology is advantageous.
• Fantastic attention to detail and commitment to quality is a must.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to swim and dive in various conditions, including cold water and occasional low visibility.
• Capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Benefits and Pay:

• Competitive pay and performance-based pay.
• Paid training starts at $1.35 per foot of length overall of hulls cleaned.
• Post-training pay starts at $1.50 per foot of length overall of hulls cleaned.
