Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and implementing curriculum tailored to early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment
- Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support to students, including those with disabilities or special needs such as autism or other developmental challenges
- Facilitate bilingual communication with students and parents to promote understanding and engagement in both English and Spanish
- Help with classroom activities, including setting up materials, supervising children during playtime, and assisting during transitions
- Support teachers in documenting student progress and behavior, contributing to assessments and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators to develop culturally responsive curriculum that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, special education strategies, and behavior management techniques
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management tools
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with children, families, and staff
- Previous roles supporting early childhood education or childcare environments that emphasize inclusive practices are ideal
- Technical proficiency in educational software or tools used for documentation and communication is a plus
