Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated equipment operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating for the installation of sewer and water pipelines, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of various equipment and techniques used in pipeline construction, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on job sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment before use.
- Operate excavator and other heavy equipment, in a safe and responsible manner, to support the installation of utilities.
- Be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc. and ensure safe work procedures are followed during the lowering of materials into the excavation.
- Conduct trench work meeting OSHA requirements.
- Work with crew members in the installation of water, storm and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation.
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute projects effectively.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience within the road construction industry
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator.
- Knowledge of pipeline construction methods and materials.
- Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings related to pipeline layouts
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including digging and lifting heavy materials.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Proven track record of consistent safe work practices
