Substitute Dog Bather at BarkSuds

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Pet Bathers to join the BarkSuds team. Please do not apply for this position if you are not interested or not able to answer your phone and/or respond to texts at 7 AM. The position starts at 9 AM and subs are called early in the morning when a bather is ill or cannot come in. Availability to respond to requests is a must.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing grooming services to pets, ensuring they are clean, comfortable, and well-cared for. As a Pet Bather, you will play a vital role in enhancing the overall experience of our furry clients and their owners. Your passion for animals and attention to detail will contribute to the well-being of pets in our care. We are seeking dog lovers who desire more experience bathing dogs and who are willing to work whatever hours are available to gain experience and additional income.

Successful substitute dog bathers will be considered first for full time bather openings.

Duties

• Substitute for bathers who are ill or have a day off.
• Be willing to accept days on short notice - sometimes an hour of notice.
• Bathe pets according to breed-specific standards and client preferences.
• Safely handle and restrain animals during grooming sessions.
• Brush, comb, and dry pets after bathing to maintain coat health.
• Inspect pets for any signs of skin issues or abnormalities and report findings to the veterinary staff if applicable.
• Trim and file dog nails, brush teeth, and clean ears as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of grooming areas and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pet's grooming needs.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries as needed.
• Support other team members in daily operations, including kennel duties or pet care tasks.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Veterinary assistant
• Customer service skills related to pet care
• Pet sitting or pet grooming experience
• Knowledge of dog training techniques
• Familiarity with animal restraint methods
• Experience in equine care or handling
• General pet care knowledge, including kennel management
