Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, administering medications, and monitoring health status
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to keep pets active and engaged
- Perform cleaning duties such as disinfecting kennels, laundry, and facility sanitization to prevent the spread of disease
- Observe animal behavior closely to identify signs of illness or distress and communicate findings to veterinary staff or management
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal care facilities is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving supplies or large animals
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Outdoor work experience preferred for handling pets during outdoor activities or walks
- Knowledge of pet grooming, pet boarding procedures, and animal behavior principles is advantageous
- Ability to maintain a clean environment through diligent sanitization practices
