Part Time Veterinary Receptionist

Job Overview

Barker Road is a privately owned, low cost spay, neuter, dental, and wellness veterinary clinic in Aurora. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and proactive Part Time Receptionist to join our dynamic team. The ideal hours would be at least 4 days per week, Monday- Friday, from about 1:00pm-5:00pm. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a positive experience for clients, staff, and guests alike.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and direct them appropriately, maintaining professional front desk etiquette at all times
• Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and courteously, transferring calls or taking messages accurately
• Manage appointment scheduling and calendar management using our veterinary software
• Receiving payment for services, providing details about services performed, and providing receipts for services.
• Support office management activities such as maintaining supplies, organizing files, and assisting with clerical duties
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries efficiently and supporting client communication efforts
• Contacting clients to confirm up coming appointments and making follow-up calls to check on the prior day's surgery patients.
• Checking clients and patients in and out each afternoon, and assisting with discharging surgical patients

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
• Previous experience in front desk roles with a focus on customer support is ideal
• Excellent phone communication skills with knowledge of multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Previous veterinary receptionist or veterinary assistant experience is advantageous but not mandatory
• Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple responsibilities with attention to detail

We pride ourself on bringing much needed, affordable veterinary care to Aurora and surrounding areas. We are currently in need of an afternoon receptionist throughout the week.
