Bark Park Inn is a busy dog and cat boarding facility looking for a dedicated, reliable, and animal savvy assistant manager to join our team. Rain, wind, sleet or snow, the animals don't take a break! Weekends and holidays are required as these are our busiest times.
Here at Bark Park Inn we work both as a team and independently. Everyone does a little bit of everything, from caring for animals to helping customers check in and out. Critical thinking, problem solving, and excellent customer service are essential skills for this job.
This job isn't for the faint of heart, playing with dogs and cats is only part of the job. Picking up poop, cleaning vomit or diarrhea, and interacting with difficult animals (or customers) can be a daily occurrence. Applicants must be able to think on their feet and problem solve as the need arises.
As assistant manager you will also be working closely with our valued customers setting up reservations and assisting them with the check-in and check-out process. This means excellent customer service and communication are key in addition to animal handling skills.
Assistant manager duties include but are not limited to:
- Checking pets in and out for boarding and assisting their human companions
- Taking phone and online reservation requests
- Managing staff to ensure proper work flow
- Providing bathing services for client pets
- Maintaining a clean kennel environment
- Feeding and medicating dogs and cats
- One-on-one play times with dogs
- Dishes, laundry, and deep cleaning
Applicants must have minimum 1 year professional animal handling experience to be considered; private animal ownership is not considered professional animal handling experience. Customer service/retail experience greatly perfered but not required. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and handle dogs upwards of 100 lbs safely. Valid driver's license and working vehicle required; if there is an emergency staff must be able to transport the animals.
This position is for full-time employment (32 hours per week)

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
