Position Overview

Bark Avenue Pet Lodge in Springdale, Arkansas, is on the hunt for an exceptional Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our premier pet care facility! If you love people as much as pets, thrive on organization, and want to keep our client experience running smoother than a freshly groomed Golden Retriever, we want to hear from you!

Please note: This is a part-time position, and weekend and holiday availability is required.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Client & Pet Hospitality: Greet every client and pet who enters the facility, offer immediate assistance, and maintain a professional demeanor with a positive attitude. Give enthusiastic "virtual tours" of the facility to potential customers using our tour script to showcase our services.
  • Check-Ins & Processing: Handle the detailed check-in process. Confirm contact info and precise care instructions. Utilize friendly sales techniques to upsell clients on additional services and amenities that will benefit their pets.
  • Communications: Promptly answer incoming phone calls, check for missed messages, respond to emails, and stay current with client confirmation calls/texts.
  • Scheduling & Records: Manage facility scheduling and input complete, accurate data records. Routinely audit and follow up on expired pet vaccinations, requesting updated records from clients.
  • Payments & Reports: Complete payments, process invoices in our point-of-sale system, and handle client prepayments or approved exceptions. Print daily reports for all service areas and complete end-of-day financial reports.
  • Conflict Resolution: Work politely with dissatisfied clients to resolve issues and retain their business, referring matters to management when a resolution cannot be met.
  • Team Coordination: Actively communicate and coordinate with the Team Lead to ensure proper pet care, daily facility flow, and clear communication for all drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Facility Care & Marketing: Complete required cleaning tasks from our checklist to ensure the reception lobby is neat, organized, and odor-free. Restock inventory, retail items, business cards, and client forms. Help with social media content as needed.

What We’re Looking For (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Physical Ability & Dog Handling: Able to safely control and handle enthusiastic or strong dogs on a leash, and comfortably stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs when helping with pets, carrying laundry, or moving retail supplies.
  • Essential Reception & Office Skills: Proven experience managing phones, handling email correspondence, and performing accurate digital data entry.
  • Financial Trustworthiness: Experience securely handling payments, processing invoices in a POS system, and balancing basic end-of-day reports.
  • Top-Tier Customer Service: Excellent communication skills, a knack for professional problem-solving, and a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
  • Highly Organized & Self-Motivated: Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to stay on top of daily checklists in a fast-paced environment.
  • Animal Comfort: Experience working with or around dogs, and completely comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and personalities.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
