Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological excavations, site surveys, and assessments with precision and enthusiasm.
• Collect, document, and analyze archaeological data using GPS devices, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and ArcGIS software to create detailed spatial maps.
• Manage laboratory processing of artifacts, ensuring proper conservation, cataloging, and data entry.
• Utilize technical skills in report writing to prepare comprehensive findings for academic publications, project documentation, and stakeholder presentations.
• Supervise junior team members or interns during fieldwork and laboratory activities to promote safety and best practices.
• Collaborate with construction teams to assess potential impacts on archaeological sites and provide recommendations for preservation or mitigation.
• Prepare detailed reports that communicate research findings clearly and effectively for diverse audiences.

Requirements

• Proven experience in laboratory settings working with artifacts or similar data processing tasks.
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping purposes.
• Strong knowledge of GPS technology for accurate location data collection in the field.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research, analyze complex data sets, and synthesize findings into clear reports.
• Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed documentation and scholarly articles.
• Previous supervising experience in archaeological projects or related fields is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with construction processes and how they intersect with archaeological site management is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with field excavations including lifting, digging, and prolonged outdoor activity.
