Duties
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and other relevant regulations.
- Lead comprehensive safety training and development programs for all employees, emphasizing hazard recognition, emergency response, first aid, CPR, and OSHA compliance.
- Conduct regular inspections of job sites to identify potential hazards related to occupational health, environmental protection (EPA standards), and overall safety.
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents and near-misses to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage workers' compensation claims by ensuring proper report writing, documentation, and adherence to workers' compensation law requirements.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, including first aid readiness and CPR certification for staff members.
- Oversee EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) initiatives to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices within the organization.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and occupational health principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training programs focused on workplace safety, hazard mitigation, and workers’ compensation law.
- Strong background in report writing, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Familiarity with OSHA recordkeeping requirements and experience managing workers' compensation claims processes.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or related emergency response training is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead safety initiatives across diverse teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices.
