Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling aluminum components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and structural components.
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure proper fitment and quality control.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics for fabrication shop projects involving metal fabrication, pipe threading, rigging, and mechanical assembly.
- Operate forklifts and rigging equipment safely during material handling and assembly tasks on construction sites or within the shop environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; support quality assurance by inspecting welds and fabricated parts for defects or inconsistencies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities with a focus on metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, SMAW, and welding techniques following AWS standards.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, shop math, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, pipe threading machines, and other fabrication equipment safely.
- Familiarity with rigging operations, forklift operation certification preferred.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, pipe fitting, machining processes, soldering, and mechanical assembly.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to pressure vessels or piping is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately; basic math skills are essential.
- Construction site experience or previous fabrication shop experience highly desirable; ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is required.
