What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Specialist position at Barentz?
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to optimize marketing effectiveness in their assigned vertical and enhance our customer and principal experience. In addition, the Senior Marketing Specialist may provide assistance and support to the entire marketing department and collaborate with others throughout the organization, resulting in making Barentz Always a better solution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *
Position/Department
- Gather data on existing and potential customers, competitors, or market segments for use in the development of
targeted marketing strategies
- Develop and administer a calendar of marketing campaigns or other promotional opportunities including trade shows, etc.
and ensure associated deadlines are met
- Be an ambassador for Barentz branding across division
- Lead Barentz’ social media presence with product and principal announcements, video, and vertical engagement
- Oversee all tradeshow details and manage tradeshow booth presence (banners, literature, promos) to foster engagement
with customers and principals
- Proofread marketing collateral (ads, product guides, articles, press releases, etc.)
- Coordinate feature product information for monthly e-mail newsletters
- Write company-wide press releases for media
- Collaborate with and advise sales team on best practices by using marketing tools, such as Paperflite, lead scanning, directories.
- Continuously develop strategies to grow social media followers and customer base
Leadership/ Teamwork
- Work closely with Principal Managers and sales leaders to collect information or specifications for use in marketing products
and principals
- Support executives, sales, and other departments as requested
- Work independently and in a team environment on various ongoing projects
- Participate in regular 1 2 1 meetings with supervisor to discuss the status of the territory’s business and growth opportunities
- Communicate with other Account Managers throughout the organization to stay up to date on customers and trends
Continuous Improvement/Problem Solving
- Contribute to and support continuous improvement of our processes and systems
- Seek opportunities to share best practices with the team, support staff and other divisions
- Ensure adherence to all applicable facility requirements, certifications and designations
Systems
- Barentz specific systems, including but not limited to BRM, Vizion, Chempax, Datacor, Sharepoint, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other applicable field (Required)
- Master’s degree in Marketing or other applicable field (Preferred)
Experience
- At least three (5) years of experience in marketing and graphic design (required)
- Experience (preferred)
Certifications
- Any industry related certification (i.e., Sales Techniques, Project Management, Regulatory, Quality Management, etc.) (preferred/encouraged)
Position/Product/Industry Requirements
- Hands on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), CMS for webpage content (some HTML required), social media apps, and Constant Contact
- Experience using industry related technologies and equipment
- Exceptional proofreading skills
- Ability to be proactive on marketing ideas that create value for the organization and assigned division
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Self-motivated, high energy, creative and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
- Ability and desire to develop meaningful/productive business relationships at all levels
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed

- Fluent in English, a second language would be considered an asset
