Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and professional front desk experience
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software
- Verify insurance eligibility for routine vision and medical benefits
- Collect co-pays, process payments, and manage patient billing inquiries
- Maintain and update accurate patient records and medical histories
- Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and follow up on referrals
Requirements:
- Prior experience in an eye care front office setting preferred
- Familiarity with vision and/or medical insurance verification and billing
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) or practice management software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
- Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and record-keeping abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare coursework a plus
