Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead
A Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead directs a 2 person team. Responsibilities include supervising daily routes, performing hands-on landscaping, ensuring safety while maintaining equipment. They serve as the main point of contact between the crew, job site maintenance and the company managers.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Training
Manage and motivate a crew of 2 field technicians to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the standards of the company.
Train new hires on proper landscaping techniques, safety and our standards of work performed.
Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback to foster growth and improvement.
Landscape Operations
Execute daily routes and specific landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, weeding, edging, pruning and/or seasonal clean-ups, plus extras specified by client requests.
Operate and oversee the safe use of our power equipment (e.g., mowers, blowers, trimmers, edgers) and commercial vehicles.
Inspect sites proactively to identify landscape issues, meaning areas of concern and potential to execute necessary treatments.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 1-2years of landscape maintenance experience, with proven supervisory or foreman experience.
Equipment Proficiency: Thorough knowledge and safe operation of all standard landscaping hand and power tools.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50–70 lbs regularly and work outdoors in varying weather and temperature extremes.
Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Soft Skills: Proficient problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills.
