Graphic Designer - Small Format Department
Position Title: Graphic Designer – Small Format
Hours/Location: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, Lexington Park
Department: Art Department
Reports to: General Manager
Works with: General Manager, Art Department, Customer Service, Production, Customers
Summary:
The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design and preparation of design files for production. A significant portion of this person’s position is spent preparing customer-submitted files for digital, offset and various industry printing methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-production file preparation and proofing
- Works with Adobe Creative Suite and other software mediums to guarantee proper printed output
- Prepares customer-submitted files for in-house digital workflow
- Meets occasionally with clients onsite to discuss graphic design projects
- Meets critical deadlines
- Submits customer-approved designs to third-party vendors for order placement
- Generates PDF proofs and hard proofs for clients
- Troubleshoots file errors, color space, font issues, missing links, low-res output, etc.
- Configures file imposition for printing and Initiates production on digital press
Additional Responsibilities:
- Facilitate estimate requests between customer and Customer Service Department
- Share the duty w/ Large Format designer of covering the front desk. This will include encountering walk-in customers, collecting payments, assisting with pickups, etc.
- Process re-order requests, including cloning & revising estimates using task management & order processing software
Requirements:
- Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Adobe Acrobat Professional (Windows OS)
- Great typing skills and grammar
- Extremely high attention to detail
- Energetic “can-do” attitude
- Highly organized, both digital file organization and ready to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills
- Business Casual attire
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Graphic design: 1 year (Required)
