Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications and company standards using various decorating techniques and tools
- Prepare cakes for display, packaging, and sale, ensuring attractive presentation
- Assist in food preparation tasks including baking, icing, and assembling desserts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and kitchen area
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and hygiene standards
- Package finished products securely for delivery or customer pickup
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production of baked goods for events, catering, or retail sales
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selections and answering questions about decorating options
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or related culinary fields
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and airbrushing
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Experience with food production, baking, and kitchen operations in a bakery or restaurant setting
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with kitchen tools used in cake decoration and food prep
- Customer service experience is a plus, demonstrating professionalism and communication skills
- Prior experience in catering or the food industry is advantageous but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift supplies or finished products as needed
