What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketplace Manager position at Bare Home?
Marketplace Manager
Forest Lake / Columbus, Minnesota | On-Site | Full-Time
$60,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience and skill set)
About Us
JP Ecommerce has been named one of the top-ten fastest-growing businesses in Minnesota by Inc. 5000 for the past four years in a row. We provide customers with high-quality bedding through our brand Bare Home. As a $100M e-commerce textile company, we source premium products from China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey while also manufacturing cotton products in the USA.
We’ve grown from a small startup to a team of more than 90 employees, and we’re continuing to expand as we scale our operations to support 30% year-over-year growth. Our collaborative, entrepreneurial culture means your work directly impacts how we show up, sell, and grow across every marketplace we operate.
Position Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Marketplace Manager to own and grow our presence across the third-party marketplaces that drive a major share of our revenue—Amazon, Walmart, Target, and the additional channels we sell on alongside our own websites. In this role you’ll own the day-to-day health of those storefronts: listings and content, catalog accuracy, advertising performance, pricing and promotions, and the account-level issues that determine whether we win the buy box and the rankings.
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone who knows the marketplace game from the inside—Seller Central, Walmart Connect, item setup, and the levers that move sales and profitability. You’ll turn channel data into action, partner across buying, planning, creative, and customer experience, and help shape how we scale our marketplace strategy as we grow.
What You’ll Do
Marketplace Channel Ownership
- Own day-to-day performance and account health across Amazon, Walmart, Target, and our other marketplace channels
- Manage the buy box, search rankings, and listing visibility to maximize sales and profitability
- Monitor account health metrics, resolve flags and suppressions, and keep every channel in good standing
- Maintain seller / account settings, shipping templates, and channel policies in compliance with each marketplace’s requirements
Listings, Content & Catalog
- Create, optimize, and maintain product listings—titles, bullets, descriptions, images, and A / enhanced content
- Manage catalog accuracy and item setup across channels, partnering with the PIM and creative teams on content and assets
- Improve organic discoverability through keyword research, SEO, and listing optimization
- Launch new products and variations across marketplaces and keep the catalog clean as the assortment grows
Advertising & Promotions
- Plan, launch, and optimize marketplace advertising (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Walmart Connect, and equivalents) against ROAS and ACoS targets
- Manage deals, coupons, and promotional events (Prime Day and marketplace seasonal events) to drive volume while protecting margin
- Partner with the analytics team to track advertising performance and reallocate spend to the highest-return placements
Pricing, Data & Reporting
- Monitor competitive pricing and the buy box, and recommend pricing and promotion adjustments in line with margin guidelines
- Build and maintain analyses in Excel—including pivot tables and VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP—to track channel sales, ad performance, and profitability
- Pull, clean, and interpret marketplace data to surface trends, risks, and opportunities, and report results to leadership
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with buying and planning on inventory, replenishment, and FBA / WFS stock positions to prevent stockouts and overstock
- Coordinate with creative on imagery and content, and with customer experience on reviews, ratings, and post-purchase issues
- Support special projects, new channel launches, and process improvements as we scale
What You Need
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Marketing, Business, E-Commerce, or a related field); an Associate’s degree plus relevant experience will also be considered
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing third-party marketplace channels (Amazon, Walmart, Target, or similar)
- Direct experience with Amazon Seller Central and at least one additional marketplace platform
- Demonstrated experience with listing optimization, item setup, and catalog management
- Experience planning and managing marketplace advertising (Sponsored Products / Brands, Walmart Connect, or equivalent) to ROAS / ACoS targets
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, for organizing and analyzing channel data
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented, accurate approach
- Ability to manage multiple channels, listings, and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication
Highly Valued
- Experience with Shopify and multi-channel e-commerce across owned sites and marketplaces
- Familiarity with an order management or listing / feed platform (SellerCloud, NetSuite, or similar)
- Experience with FBA / Walmart Fulfillment Services and marketplace inventory planning
- Knowledge of marketplace SEO, keyword research, and A / enhanced brand content
- Background in home goods, textiles, consumer products, or a fast-paced retail environment
- Familiarity with Power BI or reading analytics dashboards built by the analytics team
