BR A is seeking an experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer for our Los Angeles, CA office. This role will be responsible for designing Fire Protection and Plumbing systems for a variety of projects and other tasks such as performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects, coordinating with other disciplines, overseeing deliverables to and from clients, and developing hydraulic calculations for systems.
The ideal candidate should have the following skills:
- Experience designing Fire Protection and Plumbing systems for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects
- Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit
- Familiar with specification writing
- Good understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements
- Able to think three-dimensionally
- Thorough knowledge of CA plumbing code, model codes and NFPA
- Knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems
- Understand work planning and managing the design process to the available hours in the work plan
- Capable of meeting and working with clients, owners, and contractors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Taking ownership of assignments, working both independently and as part of the project team
- A positive attitude, results-driven and team-oriented
- Able to manage time to meet deadlines
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- EIT license required
- PE and CPD licenses preferred
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in designing Plumbing and Fire Protection for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects

Salary Range for 8-10 years of experience: $110,000. – 135,000 annually.
