What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Manager, RN position at Barclay Friends?
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for managing staff, overseeing the care of the residents, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Assisting the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Director of Nursing (DON) in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Provides hands-on care to residents as needed, however, the primary role is to oversee the resident care provided by shift nurses. He or she will ensure that the care the nurses provide to their residents is appropriate and comprehensive, and those staff-resident interactions are handled appropriately. The nurse manager will also interact directly with residents’ families to answer their questions and ease their concerns.
- Responsible for ensuring staffing is at adequate levels to meet patient needs and address staffing concerns as they arise. The manager will address performance concerns with staff as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing
- Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and with an electronic medical records system
