What You’ll Do
At Barcade, the General Manager leads a single location as both an operator and a people leader. This role owns the full guest and team experience from service flow and staffing to standards, compliance, and financial performance. Our General Managers are visible, engaged, and hands-on, setting the tone on the floor while ensuring the business runs smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be trusted to make decisions, lead a diverse team, and uphold the culture and standards that have defined Barcade since day one.

- Lead the day-to-day operations across bar, kitchen, arcade, and facilities
- Set clear standards and hold staff accountable for service, safety, cleanliness, and hospitality
- Hire, train, schedule, and develop managers and hourly staff across FOH and BOH
- Directly manage, coach, and develop the Assistant General Manager and Kitchen Manager
- Be a visible, hands-on leader during peak service, adjusting staffing and support in real time
- Own the guest experience, addressing concerns professionally and ensuring a consistent, welcoming 21 environment
- Ensure compliance with health, liquor, labor, and safety regulations at all times
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control for beer, liquor, food, supplies, and merchandise
- Review invoices, manage labor and scheduling, and submit accurate reports and payroll inputs on time
- Partner with Operations, HR, Events, and Ownership to execute company standards and initiatives
- Coordinate staffing and setup for private events, parties, and large groups
- Communicate clearly and consistently with your team through pre-shifts, feedback, and follow-up
- Stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly to callouts, volume spikes, equipment issues, or service disruptions
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- A minimum of 5 years of hospitality leadership experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
- Bonus points for experience in an arcade bar, brewpub, or entertainment-driven hospitality concept
- Proven experience leading teams across FOH and BOH
- Strong knowledge of bar service, responsible alcohol service, and guest recovery
- Experience coaching performance, addressing issues, and documenting corrective action
- Comfort using POS systems, scheduling tools, and operational reports
- Working knowledge of health, liquor, and labor compliance requirements
- Exposure to multi-unit operations or centralized Ops/HR/Finance support
- Event staffing or private party coordination experience
- Familiarity with labor budgets, cost controls, or inventory systems
- Basic comfort troubleshooting bar, draft, or arcade-related equipment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak service periods
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including remaining on your feet for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- TIPS and CBS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
The Original Arcade Bar
Barcade® is the originator of the arcade bar concept and the largest operator of arcade bars in the United States. Barcade locations feature 40 to 75 video games and pinball machines mostly from the classic period of the 1980s as well as 24 American craft beers on draft. In addition to beer, Barcade locations offer a full bar with craft spirits and cocktails and creative variations on classic pub food. All Barcade locations are certified green by the Green Restaurant Association, a national non-profit organization that recognizes and certifies environmentally responsible restaurant and bar operations.
