What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Manager -DSP position at BARC Developmental Services, Inc?
The Home Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of a residential group home serving 2 to 6 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Home Manager with the leadership of the Program Director, is responsible to the Department Director and individuals supported for providing therapeutic relationships, care and other related support activities. The Home Manager directs supports to individuals and their care in both home and community settings as guided by the Program Manager and Program Director. The Home Manager works a combination of daytime and evening hours and should demonstrate that 75% of their work time occurs when individuals need supports. Shifts may include early morning, afternoon, evening, overnight and weekends.
- The Home Manager is expected to alternate weekend duties with consistent supervision, coverage and support. The Home Manager is generally assigned to one home but may be reassigned to other homes as indicated by the individuals' needs.
- The Home Manager is expected to assist individuals, family members and others with concerns in an empathic manner while respecting their confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year previous experience with persons having intellectual disabilities and/or senior citizens required. Valid driver's license from state of residency and acceptable driving record according to agency policy.
