- Perform diagnostic X-ray and fluoroscopic imaging procedures as ordered by orthopaedic providers in accordance with ALARA and safety principles.
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal images of the musculoskeletal system (spine, joints, and extremities).
- Operate digital radiography (DR) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) equipment proficiently.
- Verify patient identification and confirm physician orders before performing examinations.
- Review and evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic completeness before submitting to physicians or radiologists.
- Educate and guide patients through the imaging process, ensuring comfort, safety, and understanding.
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) and PACS systems.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of radiographic equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to all safety standards, infection control protocols, and radiation protection guidelines.
- Collaborate with orthopedic physicians, physician assistants, and clinical staff to ensure timely imaging workflow.
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance programs, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Maintain continuing education and certification requirements in compliance with state and national standards.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Certification and Experience:
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R).
- Minimum of one (1) year of MRI experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
PREFERED QUALIFICATION:
- Orthopaedic or musculoskeletal imaging experience in an outpatient setting.
