What are the responsibilities and job description for the FLECS Behavior Aide - Middle School South position at Barbers Hill Middle School South?

Job Description:

Assist special education teachers in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of a certified teacher. Involves working with children who have behavior plans and special needs.

Start Date: August, 2026

Salary Range: (Based on 2025-2026 Compensation Plan):

Minimum: $12.65/hour

Midpoint: $14.63/hour

Salary commensurate with related experience

Employment Days: 187

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Pass formal academic assessment (District will administer), or have an associate’s degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate (District will make application to TEA once candidate is selected)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with adolescent children

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Knowledge of general office equipment
