Overview:
As an Accounts Receivable Representative at the Barber National Institute, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our mission-driven organization. In this full-time, Monday–Friday position, you will be responsible for billing, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records that ensure timely reimbursement and operational efficiency.
This role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, client families, third-party payers, and governmental agencies to resolve issues and facilitate payment.

What You’ll Have:
• High School Diploma or GED plus 2+ years of experience in an Accounts Receivable or billing role
• Knowledge of provider billing, follow-up processes, and medical billing practices (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
• FBI clearance required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements
A Typical Day May Include:
• Submitting electronic and/or paper billing for assigned programs on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule
• Reviewing claims that cannot be billed due to missing or incorrect information and taking steps to resolve discrepancies
• Communicating with program staff, external providers, families, payers, and government agencies to ensure billing accuracy and facilitate payment
• Entering and maintaining data needed to support billing processes
• Monitoring claim payments to ensure accurate reimbursement and allowable amounts
• Investigating and responding to claim denials, identifying issues, and taking corrective action
• Identifying unpaid claims, analyzing root causes, and initiating follow-up steps
• Performing account transactions such as rebilling, revenue reversals, payment applications, contractual allowances, and write-offs
• Documenting all claim-related actions in the AR system
• Analyzing financial information and providing timely reporting to management
• Preparing scheduled reports and meeting all required submission timelines
• Notifying management of system issues affecting billing or payment
• Staying current with industry and regulatory changes that impact billing and payment compliance
