Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment across various facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, field service experience, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans. A valid driver’s license is required to facilitate on-site service calls. The position offers opportunities to work on ammonia refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and complex equipment repair projects in a fast-paced environment dedicated to property maintenance and appliance repair.

Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units and HVAC/R equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals for accurate system servicing.
• Conduct diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment to identify electrical or mechanical issues.
• Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, fans, valves, and control systems.
• Weld or perform other equipment repair techniques as needed for system integrity.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs and maintenance activities.
• Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Operate a variety of tools including welding equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic instruments effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC, refrigeration, or appliance repair fields.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in construction, plumbing, boiler operation, or property maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and HVAC design documents accurately.
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
• Experience with HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and equipment repair.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
• Welding skills or experience with equipment repair is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of HVAC design principles and field service operations.
• Valid driver’s license required for travel between job sites.
• Ability to work independently in the field while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.61 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
