East Canton, OH Other
POSTED ON 8/28/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/26/2026
Build Powerful Machines with BARBCO

Join BARBCO as a mechanically skilled Assembly Technician (Level I) and help bring to life diesel-powered, hydraulic construction and underground boring equipment. This is hands-on work where you’ll turn parts, prints, and plans into fully functioning machines.

A day in this role

You start by reviewing work orders, bills of material, and mechanical drawings. With hand and power tools ready—plus torque wrenches and measuring gear—you install diesel engines and hydraulic components, route hoses and tubing, align shafts and bearings, and prepare systems for startup. You verify hose routing and securement, check for leaks, assist with filling, bleeding, and testing, and help troubleshoot any hiccups so each machine leaves the floor ready for real‑world work.

What you’ll do
  • Assemble diesel-powered and hydraulic machinery, including major subassemblies.
  • Install diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic motors, cylinders, valves, manifolds, reservoirs, filters, and related components.
  • Route and secure hydraulic hoses, fittings, and tubing.
  • Fit and align bearings, shafts, couplings, sprockets, and chains.
  • Interpret and follow work orders, bills of material, mechanical drawings, and basic hydraulic schematics.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and precision measuring equipment safely and correctly.
  • Assist with hydraulic system filling, bleeding, startup, and testing; verify routing, securement, and check for leaks.
  • Support basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments.
  • Flag missing parts, incorrect components, discrepancies in drawings, or assembly concerns.
  • Accurately complete assembly and work-order documentation.
  • Follow BARBCO safety, quality, and production procedures at all times.
Minimum qualifications
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in mechanical, diesel, hydraulic, automotive, heavy-equipment, industrial maintenance, or related work (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines and general mechanical systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of hydraulic systems—or the ability and willingness to learn hydraulic assembly.
  • Ability to safely operate common mechanic and assembly tools.
  • Comfort reading a tape measure and performing basic measurements.
  • Basic ability to read mechanical drawings, diagrams, or equipment manuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting ability.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong desire to learn.
