What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Barbco, Inc?
We are a heavy equipment manufacturer in East Canton, Ohio seeking skilled individuals for MIG welding our machinery. Candidates are required to work 40 hours and overtime when needed. Day shift works 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday. Candidates need not be certified in welding. Must execute the process of fitting correctly and efficiently.
Additional responsibilities:
*Read blue prints with weld symbols.
*Layout, Position and secure parts and/or assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers and ruler.
*Weld in all positions.
*Must create a weld with integrity.
*Must create a weld that is astatically pleasing.
*Understands the effect of weld heat on steel and how to counter the effect.
*Cut/trim using oxygen & acetylene torch or plasma cutter.
* Ring roller operation experience
*Hand grind, scrape, and polish for paint preparation.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years' experience.
· Can read and write.
· Can use a tape measure, square, and/or measuring instruments.
· Has reliable transportation.
· Can work 40 to 55 hours weekly.
· Can lift 75 lbs.
Compensation:
· Starting wage is $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill. On the job training is provided.
