What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector – Fabrication / Welding position at Barbco, Inc?
We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector with strong welding and fabrication experience to support our fabrication welding department. This role ensures welding and fabricated products meet drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect welded and fabricated components for workmanship and dimensions.
- Perform visual weld inspections and dimensional checks throughout the fabrication process.
- Verify compliance with drawings, weld symbols, and welding procedures (WPS).
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Work closely with welders, foremen, and leadmen to prevent rework and improve quality.
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
- Other tasks assigned (examples: Training/Onboarding new hires, Fill in as a Fitter/Welder)
Qualifications
- 4–5 years of hands-on welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- 1–2 years of quality inspection experience, preferably in welding or structural fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
- Proficient with common inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay Range: $26–$28 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Shift: 1st shift, 7:00 am start
- Overtime: Overtime available as needed based on workload and project demands
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
