Barbarian is a new restaurant that is opening at the end of June in Stowe, VT. We will serve breakfast and dinner seven days a week. Barbarian will be a restaurant where the comfort of mom’s basement meets the warmth of grandma’s kitchen, where vintage charm meets nostalgic sentiment, and American classics are reimagined with bold, playful, and contemporary flavors. Position
A bartender is responsible for providing customer service by taking food and beverage orders, mixing drinks to order, keeping track of tickets and working in a clean and organized fashion. Bartenders, like all front of house staff, take some responsibility in ensuring guests have a positive dining experience. Bartenders are expected to be knowledgeable about menu items and common cocktail recipes, handle customer requests professionally, and support overall restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bar station for service
- Verify cleanliness and readiness of assigned sections
- Review menu changes and daily specials
- Greet guests promptly and courteously
- Present menus and explain specials or promotions
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Serve food and drinks in a timely manner
- Check on guests to ensure satisfaction
- Process payments and handle cash/card transactions
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas
- Keep bar area clean and tidy
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards as well as alcohol service standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and team members
- Resolve guest concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift trays or items up to 25 lbs
Compensation
- Starting pay is $15/hour plus tips. Tips are pooled among all hourly employees
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
